Will bright red go over black?

-I don't want to bleach my hair, I've got black hair and I'm dying it live xxl hypnotic red, how can I get a good result WITHOUT BLEACH?If your hair is naturally black, you can get a lot of the red to show if you go to a beauty supply store and get the red dye along with the mixer in volume 50 or higher. I have really dark hair and went about 4 shades lighter without bleaching my hair using a 40 volume. But if you want your color super bright its best if you bleach it first.Sorry but I doubt it will work. I've had black hair before, and it's a pain to dye over. At most you're hair might get a red or purplish tint to it. It might be worth buying colour-lightener packs from places like Superdrug and dying after one or two applications of that. Warning, my friend did it and her hair turned ginger, but once she dyed over it - it was fine. Good luck! <3
You don't. If your hair is virgin, It may lift a few levels, But it won't be bright, It'll be like a level 2 or 3. If your hair isn't virgin, Well..Color can't lift color. Black hair is too dark for anything bright to take over, You might end up with just a red tint, If anything
No it wont, you might have a tint of red in the black say in daylight. Other than that no it won't go red!
