Straightening hair, never straight end of the day?

-So I have a good old GHD and first few times I straightened my hair with it, it was great.

But now my hair seems to have built some kind of protection and it'll straighten, I pull it up for school and it does not look like my straighteners been near it by the end of the day.

I have Natural thick wavy-ish hair.

Why? Is it the brand? Happened to anyone?use to happen to me too!

Use tresemme iron stlye hold spray protection. It is definitely not the brand!! GHD is arguably the best brand out there. Putting it up during the day might not be the best idea, and what's the point in straightening it and damaging your hair when you don't wear it down anyway?? But anyway, that's not the question!! (got carried away!!) The tip I would give is to straighten your hair in thinner sections. It takes longer, but it lasts longer, too. Hope I helped! :)
If you dry it straight with a hair dryer then use some straightening spray like frizz-ease before you straighten it and then straighten it and then use a little hairspray it will keep it straight longer.

(what i do)
The photos you see in the magazine ads or TV advertisements, took a lot of manipulation: hairstylists to do hair, photographers & his assistants to adjust lighting, and several shots of films, and the model 8 hours to be photographed. If it's a video, 3 cameras and mirrors so you can see how you look while you're being videotaped. It's the trick for the hair industry to sell and temp the buyers. Their job is to make tons of money, but they don't tell you everything why, what, when and how. They also don't give you money back guarantee for damaged hair. Why do they do that? Because they鈥檒l do anything to convince suckers like us聽to shell out for a 'magical product'.

People with GOOD HAIR CARE do NOT recommend heating tools to do their hair, specially if they're done everyday. ALL HAIR STRAIGHTENERS, no matter what brand, who sells them, how much you paid for them, ALL damage the hair. I've responded to many girls under 15, experienced in hair falls 7 in 2 hours, 9-3-10. Your hair won't look like those advertised, after you leave the house. And it won't look like that, after you've used it for awhile. It's a billion dollar business, to sell products but they do not give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss, due to 'abuse'.

Hair protectant does not protect hair 100%. Like sunscreen, you still get sunburned. Same with hair.

Example 1:

I have medium-long brown hair. And when I was in 6th grade I had natural curly hair, but when I found out about hair straighteners I have been doing that almost every day since then. I am currently in 8th grade. And my hair is so so damaged and I want to save my hair and start wearing it natural again! But it's really frizzy and damaged that it looks bad. I tried using Wen Cleansing Conditioner. But I had to stop because it's expensive. I want to save my hair before it falls off. If you know any good shampoos or remedies that would help!

Example 2: My hairs falling out,i have long hair and used to straighten it and have now stopped recently but my hair stil falls out, please help with some tips or remedies

Example 3: i straighten my hair so much....everytime i wash it i use the hair straightening iron on them but m hair has become really weak and i'm also suffering from hair loss now...

I've stopped pressing my hair further but what else should i do SAVE my hair and repair the damage??

Example 4:

I don't hate my hair or anything...it's just not what I would like it to be. It sticks up sometimes in places and is damaged from my Chi straightener. I have been using protection the past few months on my hair and have also started using Tresemme Thermal Recovery shampoo and conditioner. I also spray Chi Iron Guard on my hair before I start straightening. It's helped, but I want to find other ways to get my hair shinier and softer too. My hair sometimes feels rough, not really terribly coarse or hard or anything that bad but I want it smooth and soft. Help mee!

Example 5:

My hair started falling out like ALL the time. and know whenever I even run my fingers through my hair, like 10 strands fall out. What shampoos are good foor preventing the hair fall? Oh, and I also used to straighten my hair all the time. Does that have anything to do with it?

Another example: I always straighten my hair and occasionally curl it, but my hair is a little dry and it's pretty damaged, so I'm thinking about shaving it so i could have the nice healthy hair I used to have? So would it be a great idea to shave it?

But this one says it all:

Ok so the last time I had a real haircut was about 3 years ago. I used to straighten my hair about 5 times a week, for like a a year and a half after that and it did not grow at all during that time. Well I dyed it and I could see the roots, but it never got longer, I guess it was breaking off..So finally I got an inch trimmed off cause I thought that might help but I kept straightening it and still it didn't grow. So like last december I got it trimmed again and I decided I would stop straightening and dying my hair for good so haven't straightened or dyed it in like 8 months now and still it hasn't even grown 1 inch. Oh and also I have been getting it trimmed like 1/4 inch every other month now since january cuz the hairdresser told me that would help it grow, but it's not in fact my hair is now actually shorter then when I started three years ago because of those trims I had, it's only like shoulder length now

Anyways why won't my hair grow?? I have taken so many vitamins, I tried hair skin and nails, hairtopia, hairfinity, prenatal vitamins. I eat healthy and I exercise too and I take really good care of my hair, I only wash it twice a week in cool water now and I deep condition and everything, but still it never grows anymore, I think it might be breaking off, but why would it be still breaking off now that I have been taking such good care of it??
